25th November is International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
Gender-based violence is a prevalent problem, the UN have released figures stating that, worldwide, a shocking 1 in 3 women have experienced violence (follow the link to their interactive website to view more facts and figures).
They are encouraging people all over the world to wear something orange and show solidarity with the cause to end violence against women. Today also marks 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, ending on International Human Rights day on the 10th December 2018.
