Volunteer
‘I love doing nail art in the salon at St Augustine's because I cannot work and it makes me feel like my life has started again. The positive benefits are both for myself as a volunteer and the community we serve. Lets not limit ourselves as we were limited before, each for different reasons. I love to see the smiles on people's faces when their nails look beautiful.' Besara, nail artist and volunteer
Volunteers keep us running; we work with around 150! Half are people seeking asylum and refugees and half are people who have lived locally for some time.
We try to provide volunteering opportunities that suit different interests, skills and levels of experience. Some roles require a regular commitment each week; others can be more flexible.
Watch this joyful short film Matt Radcliffe made for Volunteering Week; it's a love letter to our volunteers.
