Today is #friendshipday, so we're going to think about all the ways we encourage and celebrate friendship at St. Augustine's.

The Café sees people from all different backgrounds. We have lots of volunteers who have made many friends from cooking in the kitchen, whilst up to 80 people in the community come and sit together to eat every day. It is the best place to socialise and meet new people!

We run several trips a year for centre users, volunteers and staff. On the 15th of August the centre is closing and we're all going to the beach! Last year's trip to Filey was so good and we all had loads of fun, we can't wait to go back again!

The Befriending programme at St. Augustine's is a great way of making new friends. We have lots of people who have been linked up with a volunteer and have really benefitted from having the extra support outside of the centre. Being a befriender not only provides someone with support and makes a positive difference in their life, but also provides the opportunity to learn about different cultures, find new interests and meet new people!

Tell us how you're going to celebrate #friendshipday.
