Magid Magid is the first ever Somali person to hold the position of Mayor (he served as Lord Mayor of Sheffield between May 2018 and 2019) . He is also the youngest ever (aged 29!) and first Green Party councillor to hold the role. He came to Sheffield in 1994 as a child refugee from Somali, studied at the University of Hull and elected as a Green Party councillor for Sheffield in 2016.
