We just want to say a huge THANK YOU to the Quakers at Glenthorne Quaker Centre and Guest House at Grasmere. They provided a wonderful break for a group of 10 asylum seekers from St. Augustine's Centre last week.

Terry, our Quaker Friend and host led us on fabulous walks to Easedale Tarn and Rydal Hall. We were also treated to a boat trip on Lake Windermere and everyone was provided with £10 spending money!

All the staff at Glenthorne were very welcoming and the food was delicious. Even the weather smiled on us!

Everyone was able to relax, enjoy themselves and feel like a human being rather than just another 'asylum seeker'. It was a truly blessed few days.

Opportunities like these are incredibly important for lots of people who may not otherwise get the chance to go on a holiday. We rely on the generosity of others like staff at the Glenthorne Quaker Centre and Guest House to make these opportunities possible.

If you would like to make a donation to the Centre to enable more opportunities like this then you can find us on give.net or Local Giving
