We love creating community at the Centre. We served 1196 meals in January this year which is just one way in which people can come together to socialise and make friends. A really big thank you to all those that work so hard and contribute to the vibrant and encouraging atmosphere here in our Welcome Café!
The children at our nursery have been helping to make lard ball bird feeders for the birds in our garden, they watched as the lard and bird food were mixed together before helping to put them into the bun trays to set. The children then helped put the bird feeders outside in the trees ready for the birds. The children have achieved many of their developmental targets by participating in this activity.
We're very grateful to Cresswells for helping us out over the next couple of months. A lovely act of kindness! http://www.cresswells.co.uk/

The children in the nursery have been making a variety of different snacks, last week they made some healthy pizzas, choosing from a variety of toppings. We are always encouraging healthy alternatives and it's always a fantastic activity to do with the children at home!
The nursery has started collecting Active Kids vouchers from Sainsbury's! We are asking all parents if they would be willing to donate any vouchers collected. We will be collecting the tickets up until the 30th June. These vouchers allow us to buy cooking and outdoor equipment. Any contributions would be much appreciated.
At St Augustine's we are proud to help lots of people everyday with their job searches. We are in need of some USB memory sticks to aid this work. If you are able to donate any to help, please do get in touch.
Proof that whatever the weather our garden still gets the TLC it deserves! The rain has certainly not been dampening spirit here at St Augustine's!
A huge congratulations to all those who completed training in Food Safety and Hygiene last week and thank you to Mandy Kendall from Supporting Hand Training for facilitating! We are proud to continue serving food in our cafe if a safe and healthy environment! Well done!

The 45 minute sessions in the pod would see the children playing with different sensory toys and even tasting some foods that had been especially prepared to reflect the exciting themes. The children also listened to fantastical stories told by the Grow Big facilitators! A huge thank you to Grow Big for bringing this fantastic learning resource to us here at St Augustine's. Grow big is a registered charity [...]
