We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came to our Refugee Week Party yesterday, and especially to those who helped out! Events like these remind us how lucky we are to be surrounded by wonderful people and organisations in Calderdale. A group of some of our fantastic volunteers cooked and served a delicious meal (and everyone helped clear up afterwards!), we had stalls and activities from The Artworks, The Piece Hall, Sister's United, Cricket Asylum, the Industrial Museum and Sail Suleman, and a drum circle thanks to Raph and Rudy. It was lovely to see the Mayor, [...]
A HUGE thank you to Judy and her team at People & the DALES for another fabulous day in the Yorkshire Dales. Seven of us from St. Augustine's Centre were very lucky to be given the opportunity to go to Grassington for their 10th birthday celebrations. There were presentations in the village hall, an amazing lunch provided by a local group, followed by a lovely walk through the hay meadows. As always everyone has a wonderful time - made even better by the warm, sunny weather! Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to be involved!
20th June is World Refugee Day! There have been lots of events around Calderdale celebrating Refugee Week, we hope you've managed to catch some of them! Come and join us at the Centre for some food and music, from 3pm today. The sun has even come out for us!
