About Laura Hinks

Laura joined the St Augustine’s team in October 2016 as Office Administrator supporting the team in the office with administration, finance and business needs. Laura has experience in delivering various projects and events, most recently as Office Manager and Project Coordinator for Marketing Halifax. Her studies and extensive employment background have allowed her to take on some really exciting opportunities within the arts, community and educational environments which in turn led to her travelling & teaching English abroad in Australia and South Korea. She loves being a part of the St. Augustine’s family and now looks after Communications and Engagement.

Today’s the day!! Mayor of Calderdale will Skydive for St. Augustine’s Centre

Today Councillor Ferman Ali, Mayor of Calderdale take a courageous plunge by Skydiving to support us! Councillor Ali is jumping thousands of feet out of an aeroplane to raise donations and awareness of our Community Centre. The Cause: We are based on Hanson Lane in Halifax, and are a community centre for anyone who needs help, advice or support. Today is #englishlanguageday – We celebrate our #ESOL provision

Today we acknowledge and celebrate our provision of our ESOL programme! Our ESOL programme is well established and offers a wide range of support and tuition. Classes run morning and afternoon, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with an advanced English Class on a Friday morning. We concentrate mostly upon teaching a basic, survival level of English to people from all over the world, where the only ‘common language’ amongst students will be English.
